The Department of Periodontics, Division of Dental Hygiene at the UT San Antonio School of Dentistry is seeking applications for a part-time dental hygiene faculty position for our Laredo Office. The position will focus on providing laboratory, clinical and didactic instruction for dental hygiene students.

Minimum qualifications are:

• Bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene and a Master's in a related field is required.

• Graduate of a CODA-approved dental hygiene program or Dental School.

• Must be a licensed registered dental hygienist with the state of Texas

• Six or more years of clinical experience

• Educational experience, preferred but not required

Job responsibilities are:

• Designing and delivering instruction in clinical, laboratory, and didactic settings.

• Serving as a professional role model for students.

• Assist with the coordination of clinical activities and student schedules.

• Participate in departmental meetings, including faculty development.

The position entails clinical and practical teaching and course administration and instruction. The department employs multiple teaching methods including case-based instruction, large-and small-group discussion, clinical, lecture, demonstration, and simulation.
