Open Rank Pediatric Pulmonology with Endowed Chair

The Division of Pediatric Pulmonology in the Department of Pediatrics, Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio, is recruiting for an academic faculty position to develop and lead clinical programs as well as take part in research and resident education.

Opportunity Highlights:

· The incoming faculty will have the opportunity to qualify for the Ms. Eloise Alexander Endowed Chair in Pediatric Pulmonary Diagnostics and Evaluation. This endowment can be utilized for programmatic development and resources to advance access and care.

· The division has tremendous opportunities for collaboration and programs in aerodigestive, interventional bronchoscopy, chronic ventilator, neuromuscular, and asthma to expand their clinical scope through multidisciplinary programs.

· The department and hospital are committed to providing the faculty with a strong compensation and benefits package, which will include a very competitive salary based on the current AAAP survey, plus an aggressive sign-on bonus and relocation package.

· UT Health’s Cystic Fibrosis Center is fully accredited and is a designated Therapeutic Development Center, which allows the division to bring clinical trials of new, cutting-edge therapies to patients to enhance survival and work toward a cure for CF.

· UT Health is the only pediatric academic teaching center in San Antonio with a premier Level I trauma center, a Level IV NICU offering families 82 private, single-family rooms, and a new state-of-the-art 300-bed women’s and children’s hospital.

· Academic promotion occurs through the UT Health Long School of Medicine. The Department is open to considering applicants at all ranks and is prepared to create a leadership package for emerging leaders at the Assistant Professor rank that includes executive coaching through an internal Executive Development Program and AMSPDC resources, as well as other mentoring resources to ensure a successful transition.
