The Barshop Institute in the Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio invites applications for faculty positions at the Full Professor rank. Individuals holding a Ph.D. with an outstanding record of innovative research and academic scholarship broadly related to population aging, longevity, and gerontology are invited to apply.
We seek faculty candidates with integrity and dedication, and an aspiration for discovery. Preference will be given to those with substantial national funding. UT Health San Antonio is responsible for the education of medical, dental, and doctoral students, and dominates patient care throughout a substantial fraction of Texas. We offer multiple centers/institutes at UT Health San Antonio, including the Barshop Institute for Longevity and Aging Studies, the Biggs Institute for Alzheimer’s & Neurodegenerative Diseases, the Institute for Health Promotion Research, and the Institute for Integration of Medicine and Science. Located in San Antonio are also the San Antonio Army Military Medical Center, the Audie V. Murphy Veterans Hospital, and the Southwest Research Institute, all of which are open to collaboration. We also seek to expand our interactions with the leading institutions in our area, including UT San Antonio, UT Austin, Texas Tech University, and Texas A&M University.
