Daily responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Enforce jobsite safety programs and incident reporting procedures.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and toolbox talks.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project-specific safety plans.
  • Schedule and coordinate subcontractor activities and material deliveries.
  • Monitor project progress and identify potential issues.
  • Conduct daily jobsite inspections to assess quality and productivity.
  • Review shop drawings and submittals for conformance to project specifications.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, photos, and inspection records.
  • Obtain necessary permits and inspections from local authorities.
  • Manage project closeout, including punch list completion and final inspections.
  • Lead and mentor project teams, including assistant superintendents and project managers.
  • Provide guidance and support to field personnel.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Manage labor and material costs, including timekeeping and cost coding.
  • Prepare and submit project reports.
  • Coordinate with the project management team on budget and schedule updates.
  • Complete required training and certifications.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 7-10+ years of experience in commercial construction, with a focus on retail projects
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Proficiency in construction safety practices and OSHA regulations
  • Knowledge of construction estimating, scheduling, and project management principles
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Valid driver's license
  • OSHA 30 certification (preferred)
  • Confined Space Awareness, Defensive Driving, First Aid/CPR/AED certifications (preferred)
