Human Resources Manager

We are seeking a hands-on HR Manager to serve as a key leader with manufacturing background. This role is critical to maintaining a stable, compliant, and high-performing workforce that directly supports production operations. As a stand-alone HR leader, you will manage all on-site human resources and administrative functions in partnership with a Professional Employer Organization (PEO), ensuring seamless HR execution and a well-run office operation.

This position reports directly to the Plant Operations Manager, with a dotted-line relationship to the VP of Business Development (Headquarters), and plays an essential role in keeping our plant staffed, compliant, and running at full capacity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Human Resources Leadership (Manufacturing Focus – PEO Supported)
  • Own end-to-end HR operations for a manufacturing workforce, ensuring zero production downtime due to staffing gaps.
  • Process weekly and bi-weekly payrolls accurately and on schedule.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures aligned with labor laws, safety standards, and manufacturing best practices.
  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for hourly and salaried plant roles, partnering closely with operations to meet production demands.
  • Drive onboarding, orientation, training, and workforce development to support productivity, safety, and retention.
  • Administer compensation, benefits, and employee programs in collaboration with the PEO.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, company policies, and manufacturing regulations.

Administrative & Plant Office Management

  • Manage daily office operations within the manufacturing facility, including repairs, maintenance, and vendor coordination.
  • Assist with budget preparation, expense tracking, and cost control.
  • Act as a key liaison between India-based IT and Accounting teams and local vendors and service providers.
  • Support special projects and perform additional duties as assigned to support plant and business objectives.

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Manufacturing experience required
  • Bachelors Degree in HR or business Administrative or related field
  • Strong working knowledge of HR operations, policies, employment practices and must have experience in the manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills in a fast-paced setting.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and HRIS/payroll systems.

Preferred Qualifications

HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar).
