Currently seeking a Staff Accountant to with excellent understanding of US GAAP and full cycle GL accounting experience and assist with financial reporting and annual audit processing. Reporting directly to the VP of Operations, the Staff Accountant is responsible for ensuring all financial records are in line with laws, regulations, and company goals.

This position is working onsite (no remote or hybrid) preferably someone that has worked in a small buisness and is able to multi-task and not afraid to roll up their sleeves

Responsibilities

Oversee the accounting for inventory, including reconciliation of inventory accounts, inventory valuation, and periodic physical inventory counts.

Work closely with the purchasing and logistics teams to ensure accurate tracking and recording of inventory transactions.

Assist in the preparation and monitoring of cash flow projections.

Monitor and manage cash inflows and outflows, ensuring the company maintains optimal cash levels.

Assist in the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly financial close activities.

Review and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

Support audits and prepare schedules as needed for external auditors

Provide financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data

Assist processes including financial reporting, budgeting, and accrued expense reconciliations

Document financial transactions by entering account information

Summarize current financial status by collecting information, preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports

Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information

Maintain financial security by following internal controls

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting role with proficiency in QuickBooks
  • Experience supporting a small business with complete accounting experience is preferred
  • Prefer a self-starter with the ability and confidence to drive the accounting function
  • Advanced Excel user (VLOOKUPS, Macros and formulas)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
