This role is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment across hospital facilities, clinics, and campus grounds, including patrolling designated areas, monitoring for potential safety risks, and responding to emergency and non-emergency calls. Daily responsibilities include enforcing applicable laws and regulations, protecting patients, visitors, and team members, and providing visible security presence to deter criminal activity. The Police Officer documents incidents, collects and preserves evidence, and supports criminal investigations in coordination with internal and external law enforcement agencies. The role also involves assisting with crowd control, traffic management, and special events, while engaging with the community in a professional and respectful manner.Qualifications Demonstrated knowledge of law enforcement practices, including experience in Police, Police Officer roles, and general Law Enforcement operations.Ability to handle and document Evidence properly, with attention to chain of custody and legal standards.Experience supporting or conducting Criminal Investigations, including report writing, interviewing, and collaborating with investigative units.Strong communication, de-escalation, and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to work effectively in a diverse healthcare environment.Ability to remain calm under pressure, make sound decisions in emergencies, and prioritize safety and patient-centered care.High school diploma or equivalent; completion of accredited police academy training and current Texas peace officer certification (or eligibility to obtain) preferred or required per state regulations.Working knowledge of relevant state and local laws, hospital security protocols, and privacy regulations such as HIPAA.Physical fitness sufficient for patrol, response, and emergency situations, and willingness to work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.Clean driving record and ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and any required psychological or medical evaluations.
