The Opportunity

Tasks: Identify and manage existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role. Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled. Follow written risk and compliance policies and procedures for business activities. Design, develop, code, and test significant complex cross functional technical solutions that impact multiple areas of disciplines while communicating with internal team members across multiple areas and client functions. Lead code/design reviews to ensure smooth daily operations and accurate planning for multiple teams. Organize work and lead multiple teams to deliver features and solutions. Independently resolve complex production issues and lead troubleshooting of end-to-end solutions that span multiple applications and systems. Mentor and coach junior / experienced engineers. Work with architecture to help define directions for cross functional or highly complex key technologies within a specific domain. May begin advancing professional development through active participation in industry organizations, writing programming publications, pursuing educational opportunities, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies. Provide support to the Enterprise and have an opportunity to significantly impact organizational growth and effectiveness through delivering best in class technology solutions. Engage in all phases of the software systems and application development lifecycle which include gathering and analyzing requirements, designing, testing, documenting and implementing software, and responding to outages. Apply expertise to scale projects efficiently while maximizing performance and minimizing costs. Identify and manage existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and ensure these risks are effectively identified and escalated to be measured, monitored and controlled. May telecommute.

Requirements: Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field followed by 8 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or in a related occupation. Position requires:

  • Web Technologies: JavaScript, ES5, ES6, HTML5, XML, CSS3, and Webpack;
  • Web Application Frameworks: ReactJS and Reveille design;
  • Programing Languages: Java, NodeJS, and Groovy;
  • Microservices and Backend Frameworks: Spring, Spring Boot, and ExpressJS;
  • Messaging Middleware Technologies: AWS Kinesis and Apache Kafka;
  • Relational Databases: Amazon Aurora;
  • Non Relational Databases: AWS Elastic Cache and Amazon DynamoDB;
  • Cloud Computing Technologies: AWS (EC2, ECS, EKS, API gateway, Lambda, CloudFront, ELB, CloudWatch, EventBridge, and Kinesis);
  • Virtualization Tools: Docker Containers and Podman;
  • Deployment and Orchestration Technologies: Kubernetes and OpenShift;
  • Monitoring Tools: N Elastic & Kibana, and Datadog;
  • Build Tools: Maven and Gradle;
  • DevOps Tools : Gitlab CI/CD;
  • Testing Frameworks: Junit, Mocha, Mockito, Jest, Jasmine, Karma and Cypress;
  • Documentation: Atlassian Confluence and SharePoint;
  • Project Management Tools: Jira; and
  • Certifications: AWS Solution Architect Associate, Certified Kubernetes Administrator, and Sun Certified Java Programmer
