The Opportunity

As a dedicated Executive Recruiter Lead, you will drive full-cycle recruitment for complex, niche, and strategically critical roles. You serve as a strategic hiring partner to senior leaders, providing deep talent market insights, advanced sourcing strategies, and high-touch, concierge-level support. Additionally, you will influence hiring decisions, shape talent strategies, and drive competitive hiring outcomes.

This role is remote eligible in the continental U.S. with occasional business travel. However, individuals residing within a 60-mile radius of a USAA office will be expected to work on-site four days per week. Relocation assistance is available for this position.

What you'll do:

  • Leads full-cycle recruitment for complex, niche, and business-critical roles, including senior and executive positions requiring advanced sourcing and assessment strategies.

  • Partners with senior leaders to define talent needs, success profiles, and hiring strategies serving as a trusted strategic hiring advisor.

  • Designs and executes innovative, multi-channel sourcing strategies, leveraging AI-enabled tools, professional networks, and industry engagement

  • Conducts in-depth candidate evaluations using advanced interview and assessment techniques to support high-quality selection decisions.

  • Leads offer strategy, complex negotiations, and closing in partnership with Compensation, HRBPs, and Legal, aligning to market data, internal equity, and business priorities.

  • Delivers a concierge-level candidate experience tailored to senior, executive, and highly specialized talent

  • Provides strategic, proactive advisement to hiring leaders, including risk identification and mitigation throughout the hiring process.

  • Drives innovation in recruiting practices by leveraging advanced analytics, emerging technologies, AI-enabled tools, and specialized sourcing strategies to enhance efficiency and hiring outcomes.

  • Uses recruiting analytics, market intelligence, and funnel data to inform hiring strategies, anticipate challenges, and drive effective decision making.

  • Manages search firm partnerships for select engagements, optimizing vendor performance, ensuring quality outcomes, and identifying opportunities to reduce external spend.

  • Mentors and coaches other recruiters, providing guidance in advanced sourcing, assessment, and stakeholder partnership.

  • Contributes to the advancement of recruiting capability by sharing expertise, influencing best practices, and promoting high standards for executive and specialized search delivery.

  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

  • Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.

  • 8 years of progressive experience in talent acquisition, including experience managing senior-level or leadership recruitment with exposure to complex, niche, or business-critical roles.

  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing advanced sourcing strategies and leveraging talent market insights to inform hiring decisions.

  • Strong consultative and influencing skills with the ability to partner with senior leaders.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Advanced proficiency in ATS platforms, sourcing tools, and recruiting technologies including the ability to optimize workflows, leverage data insights, and influence best practices.

  • Experience using talent market insights, data, and analytics to shape hiring strategies and decisions.

  • Ability to mentor or guide others and drive improvements in recruiting processes or practices platforms, sourcing technologies, and recruiting analytics.

  • Able to manage confidential, sensitive, and high-impact searches with professionalism and discretion.

What sets you apart:

  • Change Management Experience: Experience in navigating and driving change within recruiting processes or structures, especially in large, complex organizations.

  • Executive Search Experience: Direct experience with executive-level recruitment personally at SVP and C – Suite levels, including managing search firm partnerships and optimizing vendor performance, would be a significant differentiator.

  • Strategic Partnership with Senior Leaders: Beyond just partnering with hiring managers, demonstrated history of advising and influencing senior leaders (SVP level and above) on talent strategy, market insights, and complex hiring decisions. This includes experience in shaping talent needs for critical or niche roles.

  • Talent Market Intelligence and Analytics: A strong ability to utilize advanced analytics, market intelligence, and funnel data not just to report on hiring progress, but to proactively inform and shape hiring strategies, anticipate challenges, and drive effective decision-making at a strategic level.

  • Complex Negotiations and Offer Strategy: Experience in guiding offer strategy for complex roles, including navigating intricate negotiations, compensation, and incentive structures in partnership with Compensation, HRBPs, and Legal.

  • Mentorship and Capability Building: Experience in mentoring and coaching others, sharing expertise in advanced sourcing, assessment, and stakeholder partnership. Contributing to the overall advancement of recruiting capabilities within an organization.

  • Demonstrated Professional Presentation Skills: Experience in creating, editing, and presenting crisp summaries of market intelligence, benchmark profiles, search status information, candidate detail, and complex offer constructs

  • Deep business acumen in one or more of the following industries: Banking, Property & Casualty OR Life Insurance, and Investments.

  • US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner.

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $114,080 - $218,030.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
