This Research Coordinator (clinical) will be responsible for the day to day management of ongoing private and federally funded clinical research in the Division of Diabetes at UTHSA. The primary responsibilities involve recruitment of new patients into the study, managing the progress of patients through study visits to maximize patient compliance, and the management of all study samples and data. In collaboration with the principal investigator and divisional staff, the coordinator will also be expected to ensure each study is in compliance with all state and federal regulations.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates multiple clinical research protocols, including patient recruitment, data management, and regulatory compliance.
- Prepares and submits regulatory documents to the Institutional Review Board to obtain and maintain approval for research studies.
- Monitors ongoing activities to ensure compliance with local, state & federal regulations.
- Collaborates to provide education and proctor/mentorship opportunities; may oversee the activities of student associates.
- Maintains all research subject files for each study and manages all subject data.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge in clinical research coordination, data collection, and/or facilitating the patient experience in research projects.
- Working knowledge with electronic health record systems and familiarity with medical terminology.
- Ability to coordinate the diverse components of the project by quality project planning, execution and change control to achieve required balance of time, cost and quality.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to include the ability to generate high quality, technical writing and written/oral presentations.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and databases.
- Detail oriented with meticulous planning, organizational and negotiating skills.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
PREFFERED:
Clinical research experience and data management. Bilingual preferred.
