The LIS Analyst manages, implements, and optimizes the Laboratory Information System (LIS) for hospital-based laboratory departments to support efficient and accurate laboratory data. Collaborates with the IT and EHR teams to ensure quality system integration across various programs and devices to provide undisrupted operations. Responsibilities include system building, testing, troubleshooting, staff training, procedure writing, and ongoing support to ensure the LIS meets the dynamic needs of the department, the hospital, and the institution.

• Adhere to all compliance and regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, CLIA, CAP, and hospital policies, to maintain high standards of patient care and data security.
• Ensure patient information's confidentiality, integrity, and security by following proper data handling, access control, and privacy protocols.
• Support laboratory staff education and training on compliance requirements, privacy policies, and best practices to reinforce a culture of regulatory adherence.
• Monitor and assess laboratory workflow efficiencies, identify areas for process improvement, and help implement strategies to enhance productivity.
• Collaborate with department and hospital leadership to develop, implement, and review policies and procedures that align with industry standards and regulatory expectations.
• Performs all other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

• Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, IT, or a related field

EXPERIENCE:

• Three (3) years of LIS experience in a clinical laboratory is required.
  Lean, project management, or process improvement experience is preferred.

CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

• MLS Certification Preferred
