The Department of Surgery, Division of Pediatric Surgery, in the Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine, at UT Health San Antonio is seeking academic faculty members at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor levels to join a pediatric surgery service that specializes in the surgical care of complex neonates, infants, children, and adolescents. This team provides compassionate preoperative guidance, achieves surgical excellence, and focuses on helping our patients achieve postoperative success. The Division is part of a dynamic institution with a myriad of clinical partners including a bustling NICU, a well-established congenital cardiac program, an ACS verified Level 1 Pediatric Trauma center, one of the busiest solid organ transplant programs in the country, and numerous subspecialists able to support the needs of the most complex surgical patients. Opportunities to contribute to quality programs such as NSQIP-Peds, ACS Children's Surgery Verification and program development, as well as Division Leadership roles are available. Qualified individuals will have completed an approved residency and an ABS-recognized Pediatric Surgery fellowship. Individuals must be board certified/eligible.
The practice provides mid-level support and has access to dedicated pediatric operating rooms. Faculty participate in medical student and resident education and training.
