Physical Therapist (Hemophilia Treatment Center)

Responsible for providing physical therapy evaluation/treatment and develops fitness and wellness-oriented programs for Adult and Pediatric patients with bleeding and clotting disorders. Leads or mentors lower level team members.

• Interprets referrals and ensures necessary precautions are identified to ensure appropriate physical therapy evaluation and treatment can be provided.
• Evaluates muscle and joint functions of patients with any disorders in order to determine appropriate physical therapy treatment plans.
• Documents patient treatment plan in the medical records and communicates plan within multidisciplinary team.
• Develops focused and individually designed treatment plans based on the patient's functional goals.
• Utilizes independent clinical decision making on a daily basis to progress patient's and modifies treatment depending upon specific needs and medical status.
• Monitors patients throughout the provision of treatment and responds appropriately to changes in the patient's status.
• Modifies treatment based on specific needs and medical status.
• Completes all relevant documentation within a timely manner and according to professional guidelines.
• Will be trained to perform bedside musculoskeletal ultrasound imaging

EDUCATION:

Doctoral, Masters, or Bachelor's Degree degree in Physical Therapy is required.

PREFERRED:

Doctoral degree highly preferred.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

Licensed by the Texas State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners is required.
