Under direct supervision, responsible for performing a variety of noninvasive hemodynamic evaluations to detect obstructions, as ordered by a physician.


  • Knowledge of hemodynamics relative to vascular arterial disease, and knowledge of standards for International Accreditation Commission in Vascular Testing (IAC).
  • Able to perform portable studies in any setting as ordered by physicians.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, with proficiency in Microsoft word/ data entry in EMR’s.
  • Ability to work efficiently, independently, with good organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain strict protocols of all confidential or sensitive information.
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

EDUCATION:

Associates degree and completion of a formal vascular technology training program or two (2) years in an allied health care training program is required.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

Certified as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or (RVS) by testing agencies recognized IAC.


  • Performs routine and advanced vascular testing and related duties for the diagnosis of vascular disease, in a patient care and/or academic/research environment.
  • Writes preliminary impressions of test results.
  • Reviews and discusses findings with proper physician.
  • Assists with the preparation of case studies and documentation for accreditation of the Vascular Lab by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) vascular testing.
  • Ensures exams are completed and reports done in the appropriate manner and time.
  • Provides assistance to patients and staff members as needed.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
