An open, fully funded position for a Program Manager is available in the Glenn Biggs Institute for Alzheimer's & Neurodegenerative Diseases at the University of Texas Health San Antonio (UTHSA) (https://biggsinstitute.org/). We are looking for an exceptional candidate with expertise in research program management to join a collaborative team of clinicians, epidemiologists, and statisticians conducting state-of-the art research on dementia.
The position provides opportunities to work closely with Investigators conducting research on neurologic diseases such as dementia, including as part of the NIA-funded South Texas Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (STAC) and in the global research community. The candidate will work with a portfolio of funded studies, including the initiation of new multi-site studies. They will coordinate and participate in a variety of complex activities related to program administration, including pre- and post-award management, multi-site startup, progress reporting, quality control and central data management, and the development and communication of operating procedures, practices and guidelines.
The candidate will perform diverse research and administrative duties requiring sound judgment. The candidate must be self-motivated, independent in task completion, and comfortable giving and accepting feedback and guidance from colleagues. The ability to work well in a team and excellent communication skills are a must.

EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
- Advanced degree (Master’s or higher) preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of three (3) years of progressive experience in clinical and/or translational research projects.
- Manages start-up activities across new, multi-site study of Dementia with Lewy Bodies.
- Establishes and coordinates all aspects of study operating procedures, practices and guidelines.
- Identifies research and development areas that should be investigated.
- Supports management of study team by working with key internal and external stakeholders, faculty, staff, and the principal investigator of the studies.
- Executes study management activities including deadlines, risk management, and fiscal operations.
- Assists in the negotiation of research contracts.
Anticipates, manages, and escalates issues as appropriate.
Develops and maintains documents for the source documentation of studies.
Ensures compliance with all federal and local regulations and that all regulatory processes are correct and align with the policies of UTHSCSA as well as various research organizations.
Responsible for submitting and maintaining IRB submissions.
Maintains excellent communication with the investigative team
Organizes meetings and takes notes when appropiate
Provides staff training and oversight of research.
Proficient in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data capture systems such as RedCap.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
