The Imaging QA & QC Compliance Coordinator oversees the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality assurance and quality control programs across Imaging Services, with a focus on breast imaging compliance. Ensures adherence to federal, state, and accreditation standards, including ACR, TJC, CMS, MQSA, EQUIP, and Texas regulatory requirements. Serving as the primary liaison to auditors and surveyors, the Coordinator leads survey readiness, monitors modality-specific QC activities, and ensures consistent, high-quality diagnostic imaging production. In collaboration with leadership, physicists, radiation safety, and clinical teams, the Coordinator promotes regulatory compliance, operational excellence, staff education, and a culture of safety and continuous quality improvement aligned with institutional standards.
  • Advanced knowledge of imaging regulatory and accreditation standards (ACR, TJC, CMS, TDH, MQSA as applicable).
  • In-depth understanding of modality-specific quality control requirements (XR, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, Interventional Radiology, Breast Imaging as applicable).
  • Strong knowledge of radiation safety principles and collaboration with the Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) and the MRI Safety Officer (MRSO). Ability to interpret regulatory language and translate standards into operational workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct audits, analyze findings, and implement corrective action plans.
  • Advanced organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects, inspections, and deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including ability to identify trends.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report preparation and presentation to leadership and committees.
  • Ability to develop policies, procedures, and documentation systems to ensure sustained compliance.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills including coaching, influencing, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive regulatory and patient information.
  • Proficiency in EMR systems and imaging informatics platforms (PACS).

  • Develop, implement, and maintain imaging-wide QA and QC programs to ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance.
  • Monitor and audit quality control activities across all imaging modalities, ensuring adherence to established protocols and standards.
  • Lead survey readiness efforts for ACR, TJC, CMS, TDH, MQSA (as applicable), and other regulatory bodies.
  • Serve as primary liaison during scheduled and unannounced surveys and inspections.
  • Review and interpret regulatory updates and implement necessary operational changes.
  • Collaborate with department managers, physicists, RSOs, and modality leads to ensure completion of required QC testing (daily, weekly, monthly, annual).
  • Track compliance metrics, identify trends, and develop corrective action plans when deficiencies are identified.
  • Oversee investigation and reporting of imaging-related incidents required by regulatory agencies. Develop and update policies, procedures, and documentation tools to maintain audit readiness.
  • Provide education and training to technologists and imaging staff on QA/QC standards and regulatory expectations.
  • Participate in imaging safety committees and interdisciplinary quality improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct routine site visits and audits to validate compliance with documentation and QC standards.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of QC testing, accreditation materials, and regulatory documentation.
  • Prepare and present compliance reports to leadership, committees, and senior management.
  • Support accreditation applications and renewals for imaging modalities. Provide operational support to leadership during compliance-related initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous quality improvement.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
