Under supervision by an RN, a Dentist, or a member of the Medical Staff, the LVN is responsible for providing general nursing care to patients.
  • Functions within the required nursing process as defined by the Texas Nurse Practice Act.
  • Supports the mission, vision and patient promise throughout all interactions.
  • Communicates effectively, written and verbally.
  • Possesses analytical thinking – this role requires analyzing information and using logic to coordinate work within schedule constraints and handle emergent requirements in a timely manner.
  • Participates as an integral part of the interdisciplinary healthcare team in providing the highest quality of care to the patient.
  • Meets all training and competency requirements.

  • Sorts, prioritizes, and manages patient messages and calls to assist providers in assessing and caring for patients; manages the scheduling of patient appointments.
  • Takes vital signs and medical history; completes blood pressure checks and injections; administers medication.
  • Coordinates prescription refills and authorizations following protocol.
  • Maintains assigned work area with supplies and equipment, cleans, stocks and maintains exam rooms, procedure rooms, instruments and equipment
  • Performs Point of Care Testing (POCT), documents and reports clinical findings to Registered Nurse (RN) in charge and/or Provider.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
