Supervises the operational training of employees within Patient Financial Services. As a savant in medical billing and AR, follows-up, develops and updates training material for all operational aspects of the Patient Financial Services team. Monitor daily productivity, conduct QA checks, and report the data to the Manager of Patient Financial Services. Suggest new workflows for operational efficiencies and collaborate with IT analysts to implement the workflows. In collaboration with IT analysts, diagnose and fix problems within the EHR. Provide backup to the Manager of Patient Financial Services.
  • In-Depth knowledge of healthcare billing and collection compliance regulations and reimbursement methodologies. A firm understanding of medical coding.
  • Thorough understanding of Healthcare Revenue Cycle with the ability to understand the intricacies of the EHR and streamline workflows through collaboration with various departments and IT team.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office Applications. Knowledge of Epic is preferred. Ability to operate media equipment such as projectors.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively express your thoughts, ideas, and messages to various groups.
  • Knowledge about traditional and modern training methods and techniques. Ability to modify training material to the learning style of individuals.
  • Ability to collaborate with various departments to resolve issues and accomplish objectives.
  • Accountability and positive work habits such as punctuality, time management, appropriate dress and appearance, and willingness to go beyond a job description or ask for help when needed. Demonstrated integrity, ethical behavior, and concern for the greater good.

  • Create operational training material for the department. Update written documentation as needed so that training remains current and relevant for new and existing employees. Develop a training schedule for new hires and for continuing education. Track the progress of staff completing trainings.
  • Train new hires and provide continuing education for existing staff on departmental policies, procedures, and any applicable regulations related to billing.
  • Gather and evaluate information from employees and management to identify weaknesses and areas that need additional training.
  • Conduct QA checks on work completed by staff and monitor staff productivity. Compile results on QA and productivity into meaningful reports for the Manager of Patient Financial Services so that the results can be utilized for an objective analysis of employee performance.
  • Recommend and coordinate additional training for staff as needed based on QA results.
  • Keep abreast of healthcare regulatory changes, billing guidelines, and best practices to ensure that Patient Financial Services' billing practices comply with industry standards and legal requirements.
  • Provide operational support in areas that require additional bandwidth in order to ensure the success of the department.
  • Provide operational support to the Manager of Patient Financial Services.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
