Under general supervision, responsible for the safe transportation of the institution's passengers within a city or industrial area.

Schedule: May vary - primarily mornings working 5 hour shifts, 4 days per week. May be asked to work afternoons.

• Compliant and knowledgeable of all safety guidelines and applicable traffic laws.
• Ability to develop and maintain defensive driving skills and operate a transit bus in a safe and efficient manner.
• Strong sense of direction and a thorough knowledge of surrounding area layout and routes.
• Ability to communicate in a courteous, pleasant and professional manner.
• Must maintain a good driving record consistent with institutional policy.

EDUCATION:

• High school diploma or GED is required.

LICENSES:

• Texas Commercial Driver's License (TCDL) class B is required.

• Drives bus to transport passengers over specified routes according to a time schedule.
• Transports staff and students to and from designated locations.
• Maintains passenger log and all emergency equipment to include seat belts, first aid kit, and fire extinguisher.
• Assists and attends to passenger's safety and comfort.
• Inspects bus and reports any necessary maintenance or repairs.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
