As a Sr OT Systems and Application Specialist you will provide support for the configuration, installation, and maintenance of VTDC’s SCADA and Load Systems. Function as part of the team in the installation and configuration of the SCADA and Load System infrastructure software and hardware. Become familiar with the technical analysis on the delivered infrastructure and the associated OS for stability and functionality. Understand communication failures by using various diagnostic tools in support of an efficient, stable OS and network operations.

- Communicate planning between the project/support team and operations.
- Perform associated cyber activities with-in the SCADA and Load System environment to include vulnerability scanning, policy maintenance, OS patching and testing, 3rd party patching and testing, and reporting the infrastructures key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Operate and maintain Valero’s OT Microsoft Windows server/workstation environment.
- Operate and maintain Valero’s OT VMware VCenter environment.
- Provide domain controller hardware and software support, monitoring, AD security delegation, replication, troubleshooting, disaster recovery, domain migrations, and DNS support.
- GPO - Develop and enforce Group Policies to standardize and secure desktop configurations, application settings, and security settings across the network.
- Collaborate on critical IT projects to ensure that operational and security issues are addressed throughout the project life cycle.
- Provide on-call support in the areas of Windows server support and management, server patch management (WSUS), and support for third party applications (such as EPO, SolarWinds and Nexpose).
- Work on or assists with basic tasks in the design, configuration, development, implementation, maintenance and monitoring of the enterprise-wide IT operational/security infrastructure. This includes, but is not limited to: trouble-shooting, problem-solving, issue resolution, user interaction, training, defining systems scope, gathering requirements, documenting functional and design specifications, research and fact-finding, testing, reporting, cutover, IS and business user coordination.
- Perform control and vulnerability assessments and participates in compliance reviews.
- Operate, maintain and monitor MFA and password vault solution.
- Provide support of computing equipment and software, to include complex needs analysis, configuration, installation, moves, and changes for all supported locations during and after hours.
- Update and maintain SolarWinds inventory.
This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Able and willing to work on-site and in-person, required.
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5+ years of experience in the following area(s):
- Operating and maintaining a variety of complex I/S systems.
- Domain Controllers, Active Directory group policies, scripting languages.
- WSUS, EPO, KMS and SCM.
- Windows Server and Workstation operation system.
- VMware EXSi or Hyper-V.
- Experience with App Control software.
- SAN and NAS
- SQL Databases
- Password Manager/Vault
Preferred Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or higher level degree - in a computer science related field
- Microsoft certification
- VMware certification
