As a Compliance Manager you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining policies and procedures that ensure organizational adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal standards. This role oversees compliance programs, conducts employee compliance training, and ensures alignment with standards related to regulatory compliance, business ethics, financial crime controls, anti-money laundering, anti-bribery and corruption, conflicts of interest, gifts and entertainment, data privacy, and sanctions. The manager performs compliance audits, investigates complaints, identifies deficiencies, and verifies implementation of corrective actions.

• Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, and protocols aligned with regulatory and company requirements, including Code of Business Conduct & Ethics, Conflicts of Interest, Gifts & Entertainment, and Anti-Bribery/Anti-Corruption (ABAC).
• Leads updates to compliance frameworks, including policy management, regulatory change management, and enterprise ethics standards.
• Ensures organizational compliance with applicable laws and regulations across HR, financial services, operational, employment, and global regulatory domains.
• Assists investigation team with search and review of electronic communications.
• Prepares quarterly Audit Committee presentation and department monthly reports.
• Develops and delivers enterprise-wide compliance and ethics training programs, ensuring completion of required learning.
• Partners with HR, Legal, Learning & Development, Internal Audit and business units to embed compliance expectations into organizational culture.
• Leads and performs compliance audits and risk assessments monitoring activities across domestic and international facilities.
• Conducts or supports investigations related to ethics allegations, conflicts of interest, hotline reports, workplace issues, and compliance violations.
• Manages the Company’s Ethics Helpline, including documentation of reports and coordination with other business units on Ethics Helpline matters, as needed.
• Collaborates with Legal, HR, Internal Audit and business leaders to ensure proper documentation, root-cause analysis, and remediation.
• Manages investigation workflows including interviews, evidence collection, documentation, and reporting.
• Designs and manages compliance dashboards, metrics, and reporting mechanisms.
• Provides mentorship and cross-training opportunities to build a high-performing compliance function.

This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or higher level degree in related field.
  • 10 years of experience in regulatory oversight and/or developing and managing compliance programs.
  • Must be able to travel up to 10% of time domestically and/or internationally as required.
  • Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero San Antonio location, required.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP).
  • Experience working with NAVEX and Exiger software.
