As a Hosting and Infrastructure Platform Engineer working at our San Antonio headquarters office, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise I/S infrastructure primarily focused on operating systems, server hardware, virtualization, containerization across on-premises and cloud environments.

- Support, design, and implement enterprise infrastructure technology solutions aligned with industry and company standards, incorporating on-prem, virtualization, container platforms, and modern cloud.
- Contribute to long-term planning for Infrastructure solutions related to hosting
- Design, implement, and operate enterprise solutions based on RHEL Linux, Windows Server OS, container orchestration platforms, Broadcom VCF, and systems that enable emerging technologies such as AI/ML workloads.
- Design, implement, and operate Cisco UCS server hardware
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including infrastructure, application development, and security to ensure solutions meet organizational needs
- Manage and maintain infrastructure lifecycle operations, workload domain configuration, and integration with storage and network platforms.
- Documents knowledge acquired and technical specifications into a knowledge management system. This includes adhering to established documenting standards.
- Coordinate the adoption of new procedures resulting from software and hardware changes, including the development of system specifications, documentation, training, and communication plans.
- Performs analysis on (including performance and capacity) as well as recommending quality complex solutions
- Understand and applies the various IT methodologies which include project management, development, service management, and system architecture.
- Follow ITIL based service management processes (Change, Incident, Request)
This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5+ years of experience with Windows Server Operating System, virtualization, and server hardware
- Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero San Antonio location, required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree (or higher) or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or related field.
- Experience with Windows Server OS and VMWare VCF, VKS
- Experience with Azure and AWS cloud services
- Experience with RHEL8,9 with RedHat Satellite in an enterprise environment
- Experience with Cisco UCS Manager, Cisco IMC management, Cisco Intersight in a large environment
- Experience with containerized environments such as Kubernetes and Podman
- PowerShell and Python scripting experience
- Collaborate with data, platform, and AI engineering teams to ensure infrastructure reliability, performance, and scalability for AI/ML workloads and GPU-enabled systems.
- Experience with service management processes and procedures (Change, Incident, Request)
- Experience operating and maintaining a variety of complex, mission critical I/S systems.

Knowledge of modern storage platforms (e.g. NetApp, Pure, Hitachi), Cisco networking, and data protection platforms (e.g., Rubrik, Cohesity, Commvault)
