As a Corporate Sponsorship Specialist you will develop and expand strategic corporate partnerships that support the organization's marquee events, initiatives, and community engagement efforts. This position plays a critical role in increasing sponsorship revenue, enhancing partner experiences, and strengthening relationships with key business stakeholders. The Corporate Sponsorship Advisor will collaborate across departments, with third-party partners, and executive leadership to identify new sponsorship opportunities, deliver sponsor value, and ensure the successful execution of sponsorship agreements.

• Identify, cultivate, and secure new sponsorship opportunities for marquee events and strategic initiatives.
• Develop and execute creative concepts for a wide variety of functions and campaigns including delivering contractual activation components with key strategic sponsorship partners in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to design and execute sponsor activation plans . Coordinates deployment of sponsorship and program inventory and activation opportunities, optimizing strategic deployment to maximize visibility, engagement, impact and value for Valero.
• Collaborate with Communications, Marketing, and Event Operations to align sponsorship strategies with organizational objectives.
• Support the development of annual sponsorship plans and revenue forecasts. Represent the organization at networking events as directed.
• Assist in design and implementation of programs to enhance the public image of the organization including sponsorship activation events and public facing platforms.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned corporate sponsors and business partners. Ensures fulfillment of sponsorship benefits and contractual obligations.
• Review and assesses value in sponsorship proposals suggesting improvements and or enlisting consultant assistance as needed.
• Stay apprised of sponsorship market and trends across channels (e.g., sports, music, events, etc.), platforms (e.g., TV, social media, gamification, influencers, etc.), and formats (e.g., activations, video, earned and paid media, etc.)
• Oversee and coordinate publication of internal and external communication programs (stories and videos for the VLO Intranet, external website, Energy Matters Podcast, etc.).
• Develop and track activation budgets to ensure event execution results versus budget.
• Report on activities, challenges, accomplishments, and victories in written, verbal, and/or presentation formats.
• Track sponsorship performance, revenue, engagement metrics, and partnership outcomes. Prepare sponsorship impact reports, recaps, and presentations for internal leadership and external partners.

This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or higher level degree - in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Public Relations, Sports Management, Hospitality, or a related field required.
• 5+ years of experience in the following area(s) required:
  o Corporate sponsorship sales, business development, partnership management, fundraising, event marketing, or related fields
  o Proven track record of generating revenue and managing corporate partnerships.
• Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero San Antonio location, required.

Preferred Requirements:

• Experience supporting high-profile events, conferences, sporting events, or community engagement initiatives preferred.
