Responsibilities:
- Establishes objectives for the Labor Management team, cultivating their capabilities to align with the team's mission and enhance overall effectiveness, in accordance with the Learning, Leveraging, and Leading Model
- Guides and develops the team and partner teams on measuring key performance indicators, including speed of service, and other impacts resulting from proposed changes and conducted tests.
- Partners with Innovation teams/equipment, and Product Development to establish standardized approaches and customer experiences ensuring scalability and margin for Whataburger.
- Formulates a comprehensive test plan methodology for restaurants, employing best practices and aligning with various requirements such as CSR, Food Management, People, and Customer Experience.
- Determines mutually beneficial opportunities, eliminates tactical impediments, and establishes ongoing program requirements focused on reducing labor costs.
- Collaborates with Innovation teams, equipment, and Product Development to establish uniform approaches and customer experiences that ensure scalability with margin for the company.
- Strategically develops and oversees labor management budgetary functions, ensuring effective allocation of resources.
- Examines labor market trends, demographics, and business requirements to strategically optimize the workforce structure, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Safeguards and enforces strict compliance with relevant employment laws, taking a hands-on role in shaping and advancing personnel policies and regulations.
- Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or any equivalent combination of educational and work experience required
- Master’s degree preferred
Experience:
- 5+ years’ experience supervising others at various organizational levels, preferably at a regional or higher level
- 9+ years’ experience as project or program director
Knowledge, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point and Visio (as applicable)
- Proficiency in JD Edwards (as applicable)
- Advanced ability to communicate, influence, and negotiate decisions while motivating staff
- Advanced ability to create and implement given strategic direction
- Ability to work in a team environment
Working Conditions/Travel Requirements:
- Expected to work the necessary time to satisfactorily fulfill job responsibilities
- Must be able to report to work timely and as required by operational/business needs
- Must be able to work a full-time schedule and work outside of normal business hours when necessary
- Some travel, both locally and long distances, (including air travel), to worksites, meeting sites, and other locations may be necessary
