As a Human Resources Partner, you’ll serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to leaders, helping shape people strategies that strengthen our business and our culture. You’ll play a key role in connecting Whataburger’s values to how we lead, grow, and support our teams every day.

Day-to-Day Ingredients — Responsibilities
As a Human Resources Partner, you will:
- Serve as a trusted HR advisor to leaders, providing strategic guidance and solutions
- Partner with leaders on workforce planning, headcount strategy, succession, and org design
- Coach leaders on performance management, talent development, and leadership effectiveness
- Lead and support cross‑functional HR initiatives and change efforts
- Analyze HR data, trends, and employee insights to inform decisions and recommendations
- Leverage Workday to support talent, workforce, and reporting processes with data accuracy
- Design and support change management strategies to drive adoption and results
- Conduct workplace investigations, ensuring fairness, consistency, and sound judgment
- Support the development and execution of HR programs, policies, and processes
- Communicate HR strategies and insights clearly to leaders and stakeholders

What You Bring to the Table — Required Experience
As a Human Resources Partner, you must have:
- Progressive HR experience with direct partnership to business leaders
- Experience serving as an HR Business Partner or in a comparable advisory role
- Proven ability to influence leaders on talent, performance, and organizational matters
- Experience leading workforce planning, talent management, or org effectiveness initiatives
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate HR data into insights
- Experience supporting or leading cross‑functional projects or change initiatives
- Sound judgment and comfort navigating complex employee and organizational issues
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Extra Toppings — Desired Experience
As a Human Resources Partner, we prefer you to have:
- Experience supporting enterprise or large‑scale organizational initiatives
- PHR or SHRM‑CP certification
- Experience working in multi‑unit, operations‑driven, or fast‑paced environments
- Familiarity with lifecycle survey data, engagement strategies, or retention analysis
- Experience partnering across corporate, field, or distributed workforces
Where & How You’ll Work
This role is based at the San Antonio Home Office, working on‑site Monday through Thursday with remote flexibility on Fridays. In this role, you’ll have strong collaboration with leadership, across cross-functional teams, and with external partners to align capabilities with restaurant realities. The work environment is fast‑paced and requires sound judgment, strategic thinking, and strong collaboration skills. Full‑time availability is required, with occasional extended hours based on business needs, along with occasional travel to properties, project sites, and external meetings. Candidates must reside within commuting distance of the San Antonio Home Office.
