JOB TITLE: Janitorial Attendant / Day Porter

POSITION SUMMARY:

Zachry Group is currently seeking a Janitorial Attendant / Day Porter for the Corporate Office located in San Antonio, TX. The Day Porter will help to maintain a clean and comfortable work environment for employees and visiting guests by providing routine janitorial/housekeeping activities, as well as tending to emergency cleanups and maintenance issues as they occur.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Respond to work orders and/or call-in requests for maintenance, as well as emergency cleanup needs as they arrive.
• Sanitize and clean all points of contact in common areas (entrances, walkways, glass doors, etc.)
• Provide porter services for all conference rooms, which includes rearranging and tidying items in room, cleaning counters and surfaces, and emptying trash receptacles
• Maintain coffee and Xerox copy areas. Make coffee and run dishwasher per manufacture recommendation
• Service restrooms; sanitize all surface areas and replenish paper products
• Report building maintenance issues and malfunctions
• Report equipment malfunctions to supervisor
• Assist building occupants with general cleaning and maintenance issues in a timely manner; follow up until claims/concerns are resolved
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Capable of walking/standing continuously, for extended periods
• Friendly and customer-service oriented
• Able to work under minimal supervision

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION

• 1 to 3 years’ experience in janitorial, custodial, or porter position in a large office or similar facility

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Employee will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email, use of arm/hand steadiness, manual dexterity, finger dexterity, multi limb coordination, oral expression, and comprehension. May be required to lift, carry and move objects safely.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Will work in a professional office environment with frequent interaction with building occupants and guests. Each Porter is assigned to a wing of the building, which includes conference rooms, restrooms, coffee and Xerox copy area, and other common spaces. Capable of operating and functioning in a fast-paced work environment, under minimal supervision.
