Summary:

As OKIN’s Server Specialist is responsible and accountable for installing, configures, and troubleshoots and maintains various types of hardware and software, which often involves creating user accounts, carrying out backup and recovery functions, and monitoring the performance of servers at all times.

Responsibilities:

• Perform server installations and upgrade of existing server installs
• Perform onsite server troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common server problems.
• Upgrade server hardware and software components as required.
• Knowledge and experience with installation, upgrade, and configuration of VMWare virtual server systems.
• Install, upgrade, and configure network printing, directory structures, rights, security, and software on file servers.
• Install and configure Active Directory, group policies, DNS, DHCP, IIS
• Install backup and anti-virus systems for servers
• Configure login scripts
• Install add-on components such as Exchange Server, SQL Server and Terminal Services.
• Responds to the needs and questions of users concerning their access of resources on the network.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field preferred
• 3+ years of IT/server maintenance and/or network systems experience
• Knowledge of Microsoft Server
• Experience with LAN/WAN networks
• Thorough knowledge of computer systems and IT components
• Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
• Familiarity with MS 365 – Exchange
• Understanding of computer hardware
• Software troubleshooting experience
• Windows Administration experience
• Experience installing Microsoft Operating Systems
• Exceptional communication skills
