Job Summary:
The GIS Analyst manages and maintains asset data within the HEP enterprise GIS platform. This role involves supporting internal customers, driving data-informed business decisions, and ensuring data accuracy and integrity. The GIS Analyst will serve as the primary data steward, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance data quality and provide end-user support.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Researches, verifies, and corrects asset information from various data sources throughout the company in digital or hard copy format (i.e., as-builts, alignment sheets, job books, reports, etc.) for input into the enterprise geodatabase.
- Performs data governance and high-quality data editing functions on pipeline and other asset data following established standards within the UPDM + APR/UN solution framework.
- Develops intake processes for data and works with internal stakeholders to design schemas and web services.
- Designs maps and apps using Esri ArcGIS Online/Enterprise suite of apps.
- Completes complex spatial analysis to support reporting requirements and other customer projects.
- Produces information products, such as project-oriented maps, presentation slides, reports, and data exports, for internal and external customers.
- Travels to field locations and works with field personnel as needed for data collection initiatives or other projects and participates in field data QA/QC processes.
- Automates GIS processes using geoprocessing tools, Python scripting, and ETL applications.
- Works with various departments and disciplines to support their GIS needs.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in GIS, geography, geospatial science, applied technologies, or closely related field or 3+ years of related experience in lieu of degree
- Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro 2.0
- Experience with Esri ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise suite of apps
- Basic knowledge and understanding of scripting languages such as Python and Arcade
- Experience with editing pipeline data using ArcGIS Pipeline Referencing, ArcGIS Utility Network, and/or linear referencing systems is preferred
- Experience with UPDM data model and branch versioning feature service-based editing preferred
- Experience with GPS Units preferred
- Experience with FME preferred
